Hadestown: Teen Edition Auditions
Hadestown auditions will be held Wednesday, October 16 from 3:30pm – 6:00 pm in the Choir Room. Actors have a chance to present a memorized monologue, sing a song, and to show off your dancing skills to Mrs. Irenerose.

If you would like to play in the on-stage band, please contact Mrs. Kauffman at your earliest convenience.

If you are interested in participating in Drama Tech, please come to auditions.

Email the director, Mr. Lyke, a short Letter of Interest if you would like to be a part of the production team. Seeking Technical Directors and Costumers.

Rehearsal Dates: Actor Rehearsals begin Tuesday, November 19.
Rehearsing Monday-Friday 3:30-6:00pm.
Tech Week is February 3-12, 2025.

Performance Dates: 2/13 through 2/15, 2025.
(Daytime student show on 2/14. Matinee on 2/15)

Audition Format

Please fill out this AUDITION FORM BEFORE your audition time.

Memorize and prepare a 1-minute dramatic monologue.
Prepare a 32-bar (roughly one minute) cutting of a song from a musical.
Perform both at auditions. You may be asked to sing excerpts of the Hadestown musical in different actor combinations.

There will be a dance audition with Mrs. Irenerose as well. Wear clothes you can move in.

A Note on Staged Violence: Orpheus is “attacked” by the worker chorus in Act 2. All staged violence will be choreographed within actors’ boundaries and skill level. If actors prefer not to be considered for characters because of this staged violence please indicate this in the space on the audition form, and/or discuss with the director at auditions.

Intimacy: Orpheus and Eurydice share some intimate dance choreography and a kiss in the first act. All choreography will be blocked with actor consent and safety. Please discuss with the director if you are unwilling to represent intimacy for these roles.

No Experience needed. All are invited to audition. There are no precast roles.
